OUR LADY OF MERCY AND ST. PANCRAS, HOLBORN & SAINT PANCRAS: |
The Inaugural Mass was very well attended and we thank Clive Pelbrough-Power for all his missionary endeavours amongst his student colleagues at the Holborn Law School. Some older Catholics from Gospel Oak and Kentish Town were also at the Mass, delighted again to be present at the offering of the Old Rite.
A photo of the congregation after Mass will hopefully be on our web Site by the time these Notes arrive! |

ARCHDIOCESAN FUNDING: |
Recently Deacon Emilio Tundidor-Suarez became the fourth signatory of the Archdiocesan Bank Account at the Yorkshire Building Society in the Strand. We thank our Treasurer, Simon Gibbs, for all his stirling help and advice. A special Votive Mass of the Holy Apostles was offered for Simon and his family (who run our Dorchester Mission) on Wednesday 22nd February, in their presence.
We are grateful for several recent donations to the Archdiocese and thank the donors for their generosity. Do please remember us and our work to preserve the Old Mass during this Lent! Cheques should be made payable to “The Traditional Roman Catholic Church” and sent to Bishop Anthony at the address at the top of the Kalendar or to Mr. Simon Gibbs at:
Gibbs & Co., Blackwell House, Guildhall Yard, London, EC2V 5AE.
God will bless you and Holy Mass will be offered for your Intentions.
Will all our kind benefactors also PLEASE KEEP THOSE SECOND CLASS STAMPS COMING!! They are a source of real income to the Archdiocese and, of course, help us with our postal bill for the despatch of these monthly Notes – which is now genuinely high! Many of our older supporters & Faithful do not have access to a computer <and thus to our Web Site> and rely on receiving the Notes by post as a vital source of communication. Thanks to you all! We are profoundly grateful too to our many well-wishers & benefactors who are not actually attached to the Archdiocese yet who support us financially and pray for our Work!
In whatever way you support us, the Chapter of Advice is sincerely grateful. God will bless you. |

OUR LADY OF PEHRHYS, CARDIFF AND THE RHONDDA: |
Largely through the Web Site people who desire the Tridentine Mass have made contact and new Missions started. “When two or three are gathered together in My Name……” The new Mission of Our Lady of Penrhys is no exception and we thank Mr & Mrs Evan Meredith for what they have begun in our name. In fact 14 people were present at the March Mass on Friday, March 3rd in Treorchy, Rhondda. The Mass was a Solemn Votive of St. David whose actual Feast could not be celebrated on Wednesday, March 1st because it was Ash Wednesday.
Our dear Father Flynn travelled down from Breconshire (in fact was driven by Mrs Marie Pritchard) and we thank him so warmly for everything he does in South Wales. Three of our Ystradgynlais Faithful came with Father for a memorable Solemn Mass with Epistle and Gospel in Welsh. The Mass inevitably ended with the Welsh National Anthem and the old Prayers for the Conversion of Wales. Thanks to Mr and Mrs Meredith for their hospitality. Bishop Anthony promises to be with you soon.
Actually, Mrs Meredith asked that she should NOT be thanked for her inaugural work of a labour of love and Devotion to the Old Mass. Well, this time, Glenys, we are thanking you. Diolch yn fawr!!
Some of us are hoping to make a Pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Penrhys, on the mountain top above Penrhys in the Rhondda; probably some time in the summer. The Feast of Our Lady of Penrhys is in July but possibly the Pilgrimage will be slightly later. In all honesty pilgrims will need to be somewhat FIT! |

SAINT MATTHIAS, BARNSLEY CENTRAL: |
The work at Barnsley, under the guardianship of Deacon Eric Bilton, continues apace and we thank Deacon Eric for all he does, also Father Frank Dunlavey for all his staunch help, support and spiritual guidance of Deacon Eric.
One of Deacon Eric’s current tasks towards his eventual priesting is a thorough study and analysis of the
Gospel of Saint John. Please keep Eric in your constant prayers as he strives to build up the new Mission. Thanks so much to our new Barnsley Central Faithful for your recent generosity and moral support. The Bishop looks forward so much to being with you soon after Easter. God + Bless you all! |

HOLY WEEK AND EASTER: |
Please consult Clergy and Guardians for Service times and arrangements in the various localities. Fr. Frank and our Deacons will be in London with the Bishop for the two Masses of Maundy Thursday (Chrism Mass at 11am and Solemn Mass of the Last Supper at 7pm); also for Solemn Liturgy at Noon on Good Friday.
Father Harry will celebrate these solemnities at Angus; and Father Flynn at Brecon, Treorchy & Six Bells. For the times of services in our two Missions in Central and Eastern Bohemia, our Czech Faithful should contact Father Jan Vojen or Pani Maria Navratilova or Pan Petr Bozon. For times of Masses on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of Holy Week (and the locations) please contact Bishop Anthony. |

SAINT AIDEN, NEWCASTLE-UPON-TYNE: |
The Previous Mission of St. Aiden, Morpeth has, from March 1st, been transferred to Newcastle, still under the patronage of St. Aiden. We thank Mr. Martin Logan for taking on this fledgling work which has enormous potential after contacting us via the Web Site. Deo Gratias! |

|
| |
SAINT PIUS X, MIDHURST, SUSSEX: |
The little work at Midhurst has continued since the inception of the Archdiocese with a small yet loyal congregation (around eight, including two elderly, housebound ladies). It is always a joy for Bishop Anthony to offer the Midhurst Mass, roughly once a month, entirely in Latin, for a group of Faithful who held out against the Novus Ordo for decades. Special thanks to Miss Congleton for all she does - and to you all for your love, kindness & generosity. Thanks also to Tim who begs our prayers. |

| |
THE MISSIONS IN SCOTLAND : |
Forgive us, this time, for lumping them all together! We owe Fr. Harry an enormous debt for all he does - also Matron Julie at Forfar for her loyal support. The Bishop with some of the Chapter will visit our Scots Faithful after Easter when there will be much to discuss & decide. Please pray for the Missions of Angus, Mearns, Dundee, Aberdeen, Edinburgh, St. Andrews and Linlithgow. |

sAINT TERESA OF LISIEUX, SOUTHAMPTON |
Solemn Mass was offered at our Southampton Mission on the Feast of the Annunciation of our Lady, Saturday 25th March. A photo of some of the congregation is on the Web Site. Your prayers are requested for Valerie, Doris and Nina who were absent because of recent illness. Lunch & meeting followed Mass and we thank Patricia Earl-Williams for her hospitality as well as Joan and Mary for their catering skills. Deacon Emilio accompanied the Bishop and it was the first time he had met most of our Southampton Faithful. The Blessing of Roses and Veneration of St. Teresa followed the Mass. Thank you everyone for your great generosity and support. |

OUR LENTEN APPEAL: |
This year is for the Alzheimers Society. Many of you will know (or have known)
someone suffering from this illness. Much research, particularly in America, is being undertaken to find a possible cure. Recently Bishop Anthony heard an inspiring BBC Radio 4 programme about co-operation between scientists involved in Alzheimers medical research and Sisters of the Order of St. Joseph, most of whom now bequeath their brains on death for research.
If anyone wishes to make a Lenten Offering, however small, to the Alzheimers Society, please send it to the Bishop. Cheques should be made payable to “The Alzheimers Society”.
Mrs Ida Barbieri, founding member of the Hampstead Congregation in 1997, suffered appallingly from this degenerative disorder and died in 2003. The Chapter of Advice is making this Appeal in Ida’s memory. |
