PILGRIMAGE 2007 TO SEVILLE IN SPAIN:

We are starting to plan for an Archdiocesan Pilgrimage to Sevilla (Seville) in southern Spain, hopefully in Eastertide next year. A highlight of this would obviously be a witness of the many street processions and Stations of Penitence that occur from Palm Sunday until the Feast of Pentecost. As our Faithful know, we have a small yet thriving Mission in Sevilla and the Bishop is, in any case, obliged to visit before long. A Catholic Chapel would be available for our Masses.

Do please let Bishop Anthony or Deacon Emilio know if you are at all interested in this Pilgrimage.

FEAST OF SAINT ANTHONY OF PADUA :

This falls on Tuesday, June 13th. This day is the Patronal Feast of the Hampstead Mission and there will be Pontifical Solemn Mass at 6pm, followed by the Blessing and Distribution of Lilies, devotions to St. Anthony and Veneration of the Relic. Do please make a special note of this date in your diaries NOW! A buffet will follow the service.

DO PLEASE KEEP THOSE SECOND CLASS STAMPS COMING:

They are a source of real income to the Archdiocese and help tremendously with the postal bill for the despatch of the monthly Notes. As we have already stressed: many of our older Faithful don’t have access to a computer – and thus to our Web Site – and really do rely on the “old fashioned word” as a vital means of communication. Particular thanks to all who’ve sent stamps during April. Any Eastertide donations would also be most welcome and cheques should be made payable to “The Traditional Roman Catholic Church” and sent to Bishop Anthony at the address at the top of the Kalendar or to Mr. Simon Gibbs at:
Gibbs & Co. Blackwell House, Guildhall Yard, London, EC2V.5AE.

God will bless you. Holy Mass is offered monthly for all our benefactors.

SPECIAL THANKS TO:

Father Damien Mead, Vicar General of the Anglican Catholic Church, for a recent generous donation to our funds. It was sincerely appreciated. Please remember the ACC in your prayers.

SAINT PANCRAS DAY :

was commemorated with Pontifical Solemn Mass at 6pm with Veneration of the statue of St. Pancras which Deacon Emilio found in Spain and presented last year to the Bishop. Following the Mass Emilio was installed as a Knight of St. Pancras and the existing Knights and Dames renewed their vows. The Bishop preached on martyrdom. A supper party followed the Mass and the evening was generally a most happy one. A “new” lady was present and received a warm welcome.

FATHER HARRY ANSON:

We announce with joy that Father Harry will this summer be installed as Vicar General for Scotland. This appointment has received the unanimous support of the Clergy and all members of the Chapter of Advice. We really do owe Father Harry a great debt for all his stirling, untiring work for the Archdiocese north of the Border. The Installation will take place hopefully in mid-July at Forfar when Father will also be made a Canon. We shall be visiting the Faithful at Edinburgh and Dundee as well.

CORPUS CHRISTI CELEBRATION:

The actual Solemnity of Corpus Christ occurs this year on Thursday June 15th. It is an holyday of Obligation when we are bound to hear Mass. For Mass times, please consult the Clergy and Guardians. The main Archdiocesan festivity will be on Sunday, June 18th at Noon in Hampstead when there will be Pontifical Solemn Mass at Noon followed by Solemn Benediction and outdoor Procession of the Host – the latter provided that that weather is kind! We hope that Clergy and laity from our various Missions will make every effort to be present and give back to Almighty God just a little of the enormous boon He gives to us daily! Please come!    +

FEAST OF THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS:

Every Holy Mass that we hear devoutly will accompany us into Purgatory – so Holy Church teaches us. The Feast of the Sacred Heart is truly one of the most important days in the Catholic Kalendar.  Again, do please consult Clergy and Guardians about Mass times.

The Feast is celebrated on Friday, June 23rd and is, in a real sense, the culmination of Corpus Christi – our worship of  Jesus in His most divine Body and Blood.

This is the Patronal of the Worthing Mission and there will be Pontifical Solemn Mass at West Worthing at Noon and again, for London, Pontifical Solemn Mass at Hampstead at 6pm.

NEW MISSION AT BATH:

With great joy we can announce the founding of another Mission, this time in the South West at Bath. Mrs Eileen Conrad-Frankowska, a longstanding member of the Chapter of Advice and one of the founding members of the Archdiocese, has moved permanently to Bath where she has founded the new Mission of Christ, the Good Shepherd. Paddington Station to Bath is a quick journey, dearest Eileen, and Bishop Anthony promises to be with you often! Eileen, though frail, is resilient and is deeply attached to the Latin Mass.  She has already recruited younger, founding members Nina, Dorcas, Bob and Shaun, all of whom had wanted so much to hear again the Old Mass. We will never tire of reiterating that it is the laity who are the Church!  As Dame Della said: “Perhaps Bristol the next Port of Call!”     +DEO GRATIAS!+

DEACON EMILIO'S PILGRIMAGE TO OUR LADY OF THE DEW (EL ROCIO):

This is a pilgrimage going back to the beginning of the XV century when a hunter (Gregorio Medina) and his companions found a very old image of Our Lady measuring about 5 feet. From that day until today, every Pentecost Monday there is a pilgrimage to the village. People from all over the world go on this pilgrimage and there are many Fraternities which leave from Seville (about 70 miles to the north) Emilio will be doing his pilgrimage walking from Seville with several of our Seville congregation, including his mother. The pilgrims will camp overnight in a massive field that is, at other times, mainly used for the noble Spanish art of breeding fighting bulls!! Do please pray for the Tundidor-Suarez family in the days before Pentecost, as well as for all our Sevilla Faithful. Deacon Emilio will, in fact, be back in England by the eve of Pentecost in time to celebrate the feast with our London Faithful

OUR LADY OF THE ROSARY, PETERBOROUGH:

Please remember Father Frank Dunlavey in your prayers as he works to build up the Peterborough Mission. Renewed thanks to Mrs June Dunlavey for all her great kindness and support.  A party from London will be travelling to Peterborough after Whitsun for a Solemn Pontifical Mass. Deacon Eric of the Barnsley Mission is studying with Father Frank, a graduate of Plater College, Oxford, towards his own priesting.     +++
