CONSECRATION OF FATHER DARYL WOODWARD AS OUR NEW BISHOP FOR THE NORTH:

It is with a joyous heart that we announce the Consecration of Revd. Father Daryl Robert Woodward as our new Bishop-in-Ordinary for northern England and for North Wales.  The Chapter of Advice had, in June 2005, approved Fr. Daryl as our northern Bishop, but for various reasons the Consecration was postponed.
Following a petition from Bishop Anthony to the Chapter in May this year, the unanimous approval of all our Clergy and discussions with Fr. Daryl, the Mandate was renewed. Consequently Bishop Anthony with his Chaplain, Deacon Emilio Tundidor-Suarez, who represented the Chapter, travelled up to Liverpool, and on Friday June 9th, at Wallasey on Merseyside, Bishop Anthony consecrated Fr. Daryl a Bishop according to the Traditional Pontifical of the Holy Roman Church. The Title of the new Bishop, canonically approved by the Chapter, is that of +Fountains and Hazelwood in the Traditional Roman Catholic Church.
We thank Almighty God for the great blessing He has poured on Bishop Daryl and we beg your constant prayers for our new Bishop. We rejoice with Bishop Daryl’s own people in the Parish of Christ the King at Wallasey and wish him, as in the concluding part of the Consecration Rite, + AD MULTOS ANNOS! +
A photograph of the two bishops with Deacon Emilio will be on our website in due course.

In the ordinary course of matters,Bishop Anthony now becomes Bishop Metropolitan.

NEW CHANCELLOR OF THE ARCHDIOCESE:

On the Feast of Pentecost, Sunday, June 4th, before Solemn Mass at Hampstead, Bishop Anthony appointed and installed Deacon Emilio Tundidor-Suarez as Chancellor of the Archdiocese. Emilio was already official Secretary to the Chapter of Advice and we have true cause to thank him for all his clerical work for the Church. Bishop Anthony himself was previously Chancellor, but, on account of our recent new growth as well as the Consecration of Bishop Daryl, it was generally deemed more appropriate that another of the Clergy be appointed Chancellor.

ORDINATION OF DEACON EMILIO TO THE SACRED PRIESTHOOD:

On Sunday, July 16th, the Sixth Sunday after Pentecost, Bishop Anthony will raise Reverend Deacon Emilio Tundidor-Suarez to the Sacred Priesthood at St. Anthony’s Oratory at Hampstead. Since his deaconing last August, Emilio has undertaken extensive studies and has recently written a thesis on “The Eucharistic Content of St. John’s Gospel”. Please pray for Emilio as he prepares for this, the greatest event of his life. All of us who are priests remember most vividly the silently happy, yet contemplative, weeks leading up to our own Ordination! We ask our Clergy to say a special Mass for Emilio before July 16th. Emilio’s mother is coming from Spain to be present, and his twin-brother, Fernando who, with Pia his fiancee, is joint Guardian of our Shepherds Bush Mission, will also, of course, be present. Deacon Emilio has great devotion to Our Lady of Hope, “Nuestra Señora de la Esperanza”, in honour of whom his own Milton Keynes/Northampton Mission is dedicated; consequently the Ordination Mass will be a Votive of Our Lady of Hope with commemoration, obviously, of  Sunday.  Will those wishing to be present (and who are not members of the Hampstead congregation) please contact Bishop Anthony as soon as possible because of the seating arrangements (and luncheon catering!!)…  Many thanks.

DO PLEASE KEEP THOSE SECOND CLASS STAMPS COMING!!

They are a source of real income to the Archdiocese and help tremendously with the postal bill for the despatch of the monthly Notes. As we’ve already stressed: many of our older Faithful don’t have access to a computer – and thus to our Web Site – and really do rely on the “old fashioned word” as a vital means of communication. Particular thanks to all who’ve sent stamps during June. Any Pentecost donations would also be most welcome and cheques should be made payable to “The Traditional Roman Catholic Church” and sent to Bishop Anthony at the address at the top of the Kalendar or to Mr. Simon Gibbs, our Archdiocesan Treasurer, at:

Gibbs & Co., Blackwell House, Guildhall Yard, London, EC2V. 5AE.

God will bless you. Holy Mass is offered monthly for all our benefactors.

RECENT DONATIONS:

The Chapter wishes to thank most warmly Mrs Peggy Derwent and Mr. Harry Docksey, both of our Southampton Mission of St. Teresa, for very generous donations during June. We also thank Deacon Eric Bilton, Guardian of St. Matthias, Barnsley, for his continuing support & generosity. The loving, prayerful support of so many of you is sincerely appreciated.   Thank you very much!

SAINT TERESA, sOUTHAMPTON:

Bishop Anthony thanks you all so much for everything you do. Some  of the Southampton congregaton will be hiring a mini-bus later this summer and travelling up to Hampstead for a special Solemn Pontifical Mass, followed by a buffet lunch. The next Solemn Mass at Southampton will be in the late summer. Please keep our Southampton stalwarts in your prayers!

LITTLE OFFICE OF SAINT PANCRAS:

This short Office, to be recited daily by the Knights and Dames of the Order of St. Pancras, has now been finalised and has received the Archdiocesan + Imprimatur.

NEW REREDOS TO COMPLETE THE HAMPSTEAD ORATORY:

Special thanks to Mrs Gillian Bencard of the Battersea and Clapham Mission for creating the new Reredos which will shortly be hung behind the High Altar. Bishop Anthony is so grateful for all Gill’s help and support since he moved home last year.

INSTALLATION OF FR. HARRY ANSON AS A CANON:

On Sunday, June 18th, before Pontifical High Mass, Bishop Anthony installed Father Harry Anson as a Canon of the Archdiocese. Canon Anson (or Father Harry, as we shall all probably continue with great affection to call him!) works tirelessly in various parts of Scotland: Angus & Forfar; Dundee; Aberdeen. We bless him and thank him for everything. Our new Canon travelled to London for the Corpus Christi Celebrations and it was a pleasure for those of our people who didn’t know him already to meet him. With Chapter approval, Canon Anson will be installed as Vicar General for Scotland in the latter part of August (dates to be finalised) when the Bishop Metropolitan and members of Chapter will travel to Angus for a formal Scottish Visitation. We all long to be back there!!

OUR LADY OF PENRHYS, CARDIFF AND RHONDDA:

Renewed thanks to Glenys, Delyth, Kay, Garry & all our Faithful in the Rhondda.  The Feast of Our Lady of Penrhys is celebrated on Friday, July 21st and for Mass times please see Kalendar. The medieval Shrine of Our Lady of Penrhys is little known outside South Wales: our Lady reigns there on a high mountain above the village of Penrhys which is also the second part of the Bishop Metropolitan’s Title. Please pray during July for the (re)Conversion of Wales to the Old Faith!

SAINT JAMES, CHELSEA AND SOUTH KENSINGTON:

Archdiocesan Treasurer, Simon Gibbs, though based mainly in Dorchester, has exchanged contracts on a flat in Lexham Gardens, Kensington where he will often be during the week. The regular pattern of Masses for the Mission can now be re-established. Thank you so much, dear Simon, for all you do, not least as Guardian of two Missions. Solemn Masses & Blessing of the Sea Shells on St. James’ Day, July 25th:- Chelsea, Noon. Hampstead, 6pm. We pray then for the Church in Spain.

OUR LADY OF THE ROSARY, PETERBOROUGH:

We give thanks with Father Frank Dunlavey and June upon the arrival of their new grandson, Alexander James, who was born in early June. Blessings upon him as upon his parents Elaine and Andrew. Bishop Anthony has been asked to baptise Alexander and to welcome him as the youngest of our Faithful. Deo Gratias! The good work at Peterborough continues and we owe Fr. Frank a debt for all he does.  Deacon Eric Bilton is continuing his studies for the Priesthood with Fr. Frank and was recently at Peterborough for an intensive weekend. Do remember our seminarians in your prayers.
