SAINT MATTHIAS, BARNSLEY CENTRAL:

Our great work at Barnsley continues. Welcome to Irene, Mavis & Nellie, new members of the growing congregation. Dame Patricia Earl-Williams, Guardian of our St. Teresa, Southampton Mission, met Deacon Eric Bilton over the weekend of Fr. Emilio’s Ordination. She will travel to Barnsley shortly to stay with Deacon Eric and to help and advise him in his missionary endeavours. Eric’s studies under Fr. Frank Dunlavey continue. Please keep Eric and our new Barnsley Faithful in your prayers.

OUR LADY AND ST. PETER:

The work at Forfar gathers pace with several new faces at Canon Anson’s Masses. We have so very many reasons to thank Matron Julie Petrie at Finavon Court for all she does to assist us. There are 2 lovely photos on the web site of Canon Anson with Julie and with some of our people. Let us never forget that the traditional Mass, whether said in Latin or English, brings great comfort to older people who have known it since childhood!

The Bishop Metropolitan, accompanied by Fr. Emilio & Dame Della Edling, will make a Visitation to Angus during the last week of August. During Solemn Mass, Canon Harry Anson will be formally installed as the Vicar General for Scotland. There will also be a visit to the Faithful at Edinburgh.

FEAST OF OUR LADY OF THE SNOW:

This Feast, Saturday, August 5th, is the Anniversary of Bishop Anthony’s own Ordination to the Sacred Priesthood. There will be Solemn High Mass at Noon, followed by Buffet Lunch. The Solemnity of Our Lady of the Snows will be an excellent, timely opportunity for us all to pray fervently to our Blessed Lady of Victories for PEACE in the Holy Land – and, above all else, for the ultimate triumph of JESUS CHRIST and His Holy Catholic Church. +++

NEW MISSION:

St. David of Wales at Maryton, Angus. Guardian: Mrs Jenny Edwards. Report next month.

dO PLEASE KEEP THOSE SECOND CLASS STAMPS COMING:

They are a source of real income to the Archdiocese and help tremendously with the postal bill for the despatch of the monthly Notes. As we’ve already stressed: many of our older Faithful don’t have access to a computer – and thus to our Web Site – and really do rely on the “old fashioned word” as a vital means of communication. Particular thanks to all who’ve sent stamps during July. Any Pentecost donations would also be most welcome. Cheques should be made payable to “The Traditional Roman Catholic Church” and sent to Bishop Anthony at the address at the top of the Kalendar or to Mr. Simon Gibbs, our Archdiocesan Treasurer, at:
Gibbs & Co., Blackwell House, Guildhall Yard, London, EC2V 5AE.
God will bless you. Holy Mass is offered monthly for all our benefactors.

SAINTS ANDREW AND MAGNUS, EDINBURGH:

Special thanks this month to Gerald Wilson, Guardian of the Edinburgh Mission, for a most generous donation to the Central Funds on behalf of all the Faithful at Edinburgh. We are very grateful. As mentioned above, we are making a Visitation to Edinburgh this month.

LITTLE OFFICE OF SAINT PANCRAS:

This short Office, to be recited daily by the Knights and Dames of the Order of St. Pancras, has, as was announced last month, been finalised and has received the Archdiocesan + Imprimatur. Special bound copies are being prepared for our daily use! St. Pancratio, ora pro nobis!

SAINT ANTHONY'S, HAMPSTEAD:

We are deeply sorry to report the recent death of one of our founding members, Mrs Anna Adaoui, who had been seriously ill with cancer for 3 years.  Anna was a most generous benefactress of St. Anthony’s. We send our loving condolences to her husband and children. A Solemn Mass of Requiem was offered for her as well as two further Low Masses of Requiem during the last month.

+Rest in +Peace, dearest Anna – and Rise in +Glory!   JESU, Mercy! MARY, Pray!

FEAST OF THE ASSUMPTION AND THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY:

The Assumption of our Lady on Tuesday, August 15th is an Holyday of Obligation. For Mass times, consult the Clergy. The Octave Day of The Assumption is kept, in Holy Tradition, as The Immaculate Heart of Mary, when we pray for the Consecration of the whole world, by our Holy Father Pope Benedict, to Mary’s Most Immaculate Heart. Then, and only then, will there be peace in our troubled world. Hampstead Sung Masses both days at 6pm.
