CONSECRATION OF FATHER FRANCIS DUNLAVEY: |
This occurred on Saturday, October 21st at Wittering near Peterborough. The Consecration Mass and Ceremonies began at Noon in the presence of members of Father’s congregation and family. Deacon Eric Bilton acted as MC and read the Mandate of The Chapter of Advice on behalf of Dame Della Edling who had to be in Brighton for a family funeral.
Our new Bishop’s Title is that of Whiteladies and St.Neots within the Traditional Roman Catholic Church.
Bishop Francis has recovered very well from the recent surgery on his back and is now busy increasing the Peterborough congregation as well as establishing our new Mission at Stamford in Lincolnshire.
Bishop Anthony preached on the role of a bishop and his relationship with his clergy.
The Consecration was according to the Traditional Rites of the Holy Roman Church and the Mass was in Latin. We rejoice with Bishop Francis on his Elevation and wish him,in the words of the concluding part of the ceremony: AD MULTOS ANNOS! Deo Gratis! |

THE ORDER OF SAINT PANCRAS: |
Before the Consecration on October 21st, our new Bishop, Mrs June Dunlavey and Deacon Eric Bilton were all received into the Order and took a vow to say daily the Little Office of Saint Pancras. New booklets containing the Little Office are currently being prepared. Mr. Ben Duncan will be installed at Marylebone during November. |

FATHER DAMIAN MEAD: |
Bishop Anthony wishes publicly to thank the Very Reverend Damian Mead,
Vicar General of the Anglican Catholic Church in Britain, for his recent loving support and his prayers for the Archdiocese. Father’s prayer card of Our Lady of Fatima was truly appreciated. May I ask all our own clergy and laity to remember the ACC at the Altar. |

FIRST MASS AT CARDIGAN: |
The first Mass at Cardigan took place on Wednesday, 25th October, Feast of the Forty Martyrs of England and Wales,at 1pm. Father Simms travelled from Oxfordshire and we thank him warmly.Paul Martin,Mission Guardian, and his little band of enthusiastic students at Lampeter, were unsure whether to use a room in the University (in which case the Mission would become more or less a University Mission) or whether to meet “off campus”. The latter prevailed and Sung Mass was offered at the home of Mr and Mrs Dafydd Owen whom we thank most warmly for their generous hospitality. This means basically that the Cardiganshire Mission is officially both “Town and Gown”. We already knew that there were many older Catholics in Cardiganshire who had been deprived of the Old Rite for decades. The Mass was entirely in Latin. Father preached on taking the Sacraments out to the people. A buffet lunch followed. |

ST. MATTHIAS, BARNSLEY CENTRAL: |
The great work at Burton Grange proceeds quietly yet with growing confidence and we thank our Faithful there for their support. Deacon Eric holds a Eucharistic service, largely the first part of Holy Mass with Communion from the Reserved Sacrament, at Noon every Sunday and at other times on Feast Days. He is now Chaplain to Bishop Francis and is working seriously under Bishop Francis with a series of essay titles and much reading. We hope that his final priesting will take place in the later part of next year. Please keep our Barnsley Central people in your constant prayers. |

SAINTS ANDREW AND MAGNUS, EDINBURGH: |
Following our recent, too short, visit to Edinburgh, the Guardian of the Edinburgh Mission,Mr.Gerald Wilson and two of the Faithful there, visited London and heard Holy Mass on Sunday 29th,Feast of Our Lady of Victories,at Noon at Hampstead. Parish lunch then followed and plans for the way forward in Edinburgh and Linlithgow were thoroughly discussed. It was agreed that the Bishop Metropolitan would visit Edinburgh more often. We cannot, in all truth, expect Canon Anson to do more than he already does. It was good that the Edinburgh folk met many of our London laity! |

OUR LADY OF PENRHYS, RHONDA AND CARDIFF |
The last Mass on Monday 30th October was well attended. The venue was changed to Tonypandy(from Treorchy)because Glenys is suffering with a severe bout of flu. Thanks very much to Mrs Nansi James for offering her house and for providing a simple meal after the 7pm Mass. Thanks to Glyn Maddox for bringing Fr.Flynn by car from Ystradgynlais. There were fourteen at Mass, including a lady who’d travelled by bus up from Cardiff, after contacting Bishop Anthony via the website. Our high hopes of the Rhondda Mission are certainly coming to fruition. Thanks so much! |

DO PLEASE KEEP THOSE SECOND CLASS STAMPS COMING!! |
They are a source of real income to the Archdiocese and help tremendously with the postal bill for the despatch of the monthly Notes. As we have already stressed: many of our older Faithful do not have access to a computer and thus to our Web Site and really do rely on the old fashioned word as a vital means of communication. Particular thanks to all who have sent stamps during September. Any Autumn donations would also be most welcome. Cheques should be made payable to:The Traditional Roman Catholic Church; and sent to Bishop Anthony at the address at the top of the Kalendar or to Mr. Simon Gibbs, our Archdiocesan Treasurer, at:
Gibbs & Co. ,Blackwell House, Guildhall Yard, London, EC2V.5AE.
God will bless you. Holy Mass is offered monthly for all our benefactors. |

REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY: |
Will clergy note that the chief Mass on Remembrance Sunday,November 12th,
must be a Requiem for the War Dead. The vestments must be black and the Mass ends with the Absolution of the Catafalque which must be covered with the Union Flag. Any other Mass said on that day may be that of the normal Sunday, twenty-third after Pentecost, with green vestments. |
