BAPTISM & RECEPTION INTO THE CHURCH OF MRS WENDY TAYLOR |
This occurred on Tuesday,
April 8th at 7pm during Pontifical Solemn Mass. Bishop Anthony baptised Wendy, a lady of middle years,
and Received her. The Baptism of an Adult was according to the Old Roman Rite. Father Emilio Tundidor-
Suarez is Godfather and Dame Della Edling is Godmother. Wendy took the baptismal Christian names of
Theodora Frances. We offer Wendy a special warm and loving welcome. Wendy, whose background had been presbyterian, had been drawn to the Catholic Religion over a long period. She made her first Holy Communion during the Mass. All present also renewed their baptismal vows and this was followed by the Vidi Aquam and Asperges with Easter Water. A joyous occasion indeed! A Buffet Reception followed.
We were only sorry that Mr. Gerald Wilson who is Guardian of our Edinburgh Mission of Saints Andrew and Magnus and who is also an ex-presbyterian, was unable to be present. He will meet Wendy soon! +

OUR LADY OF MANCHESTER AT MANCHESTER: |
The Feast of Our Lady of Manchester will be kept on Wednesday,21st May with Pontifical Mass at Urmston. We thank Penny Inglefield with all our hearts for her staunch commitment to the Cause. Bishop Anthony will travel up the day before. Two “new ladies” are to be received: one an ex-Anglican and the other a University lecturer who has transferred her allegiance from the Society of Saint Pius X. We report this not in any way to criticise the SSPX but just as a matter of record! In fact she will obviously, as a Roman Catholic, not be “received” in the true liturgical sense – just awarded the warmest of welcomes! Penny is planning one of her special buffet lunches to follow the Solemn Mass at Noon. The Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary will precede Mass with the customary prayer to Our Lady of Manchester. Moira is mustering the Rochdale folk so we expect an excellent turn-out!

| PILGRIM’S BLESSING FOR MR.KEVIN SORAGHAN AND A NEW MISSION IN BULGARIA!! |
Kevin,
one of our Lewisham Faithful, has sold his house and, at forty two, given up a career with his local Borough Council to work among needy people with a Catholic charity in Varna. Bishop Anthony anointed him after Solemn Mass on the Third Sunday after Easter and bestowed a Pilgrim Blessing. It was a touching and most moving ceremony not least because we will miss all that Kevin has done for us in South London. Varna may be a seaside resort frequented by western tourists, but the scene in its back streets is rather different! Please pray for Kevin as he embarks on this pilgrimage of mercy! A Roman Catholic Mission there, dedicated to Our Lady, Queen of Peace, and part of The ArchConfraternity, will be established and Bishop Anthony hopes to visit Varna later this year. We beg you all to pray for this – our first East European parish. We say “first” because of course our Missions in Bohemia are Central Europe and veering firmly westward!!

ST.WENCESLAUS,EAST BOHEMIA: |
On the subject of Bohemia our two clergy there have been joined by a recently retired priest, Father Lukas Tenkrat, who has for the last eleven years been based in Slovakia and saying the Traditional Mass twice weekly. Now retired, Father, a Czech, has returned to Eastern Bohemia to live with his sister in the pretty town of Havlickuv Brod. It is through his dear friend from seminary days, Father Vojen, that Father Tenkrat has attached himself to the ArchConfraternity. This news has brought great joy to Bishop Anthony and to all our people in Bohemia. Pater Tenkrate! Vitame, Vitame vas!!

| SS.TEILO & PADARN,BRECONSHIRE: |
The Feast of St. Asaph will be kept in Wales this year on May 13th, transferred from 11th which is the Solemnity of Pentecost. Our Breconshire Masses rotate between 3 places: Brecon, Ystradgynlais and Crickhowell. The Breconshire people feel a little neglected in the Notes but we do want them to know how grateful we are for all they do. Father Flynn’s great delight is to offer Mass weekly in this his “home patch”. The Solemn Mass on May 13th will be at the home of Mr. Tommy James in Brecon. The last Ystradgynlais Mass was on Monday, April 21st when fourteen people, including three from the Rhondda, were present. Bishop Anthony promises to make an overdue Visitation sometime this year and begs you all to understand how highly you are valued. Thank you for your staunch loyalty. |

| THIS YEAR’S LENTEN COLLECTION |
was for the Leukemia Research Fund. Sincere thanks to all our Faithful who sent donations before the Appeal closed at the end of April. |
| |
| DO PLEASE KEEP THOSE SECOND CLASS STAMPS COMING!! |
They are a source of real income to the ArchConfraternity, helping tremendously with the postal bill for the despatch of the monthly Notes. As we’ve already stressed: many of our older Faithful don’t have access to a computer – and thus to our Web Site – and really do rely on the “old fashioned word” as a vital means of communication. Particular thanks to all who’ve sent stamps during April. Pentecost donations would be most welcome. Cheques should be made payable to “The Traditional Roman Catholic Church” and sent to Bishop Anthony at the address at the top of the Kalendar or to Mr.Simon Gibbs, our ArchConfraternity Treasurer, at:
Gibbs & Co.,Blackwell House,Guildhall Yard,London,EC2V.5AE.
God will bless you. Holy Mass is offered monthly for all our benefactors.

| WILL CLERGY AND GUARDIANS |

The Clergy & Chapter wish you all a holy and prayerful Pentecost Season.
