INCARDINATION OF FATHER MARK PARIS: |
We are pleased to report that Father Mark Paris, Parish Priest of St. David’s, Grangetown, Cardiff has, with his entire Congregation, been received into the gentle Fold of The ArchConfraternity of Our Lady of Victories. Father Mark was previously a priest within the Old Catholic Church of Europe with whom The ArchConfraternity has had a Concordat. Fr.Mark’s reasons for coming to us are largely pastoral and related to Bishop Anthony’s deep connections with South Wales and Monmouthshire where several of our Missions are based. His decision is absolutely no criticism of Bishop Dennis Beevers, Metropolitan of the OCCE. We welcome Father and all his Faithful and assure them of a loving Home. Father Mark was already Chaplain to Bishop Francis Dunlavey, our bishop in the Midlands. Bishop Anthony will make a Visit to Cardiff soon, then up on the new Rail Link to Ebbw Vale!

SAINT JOHN BAPTIST,EBBW VALE & TREDEGAR: |
The Nativity of Saint John Baptist occurs on 24th June – a Tuesday. There will be Solemn Mass at Tredegar at 7pm, by kind permission of Miss Riley and our Ebbw Vale folk are hoping for a full turn-out! Supper will follow Mass. Bishop Anthony would so like to have been with you but cannot since there must obviously be Solemn Mass that same evening in London!
In addition to the last Tredegar Mass on May 2nd when eleven people were present, there was an additional Mass at Ebbw Vale on Sunday, 18th May, Feast of the Most Holy Trinity, thanks to Mrs O’Shea. We really are so grateful for all that Miss Riley and Mrs O’Shea do for the Ebbw Vale/Tredegar Mission. Thank you, one and all. Mrs O’Shea reported fifteen people on 18th May, including three from the Novus Ordo Church on Tredegar Road, Ebbw Vale and one Methodist lady who is now under instruction. + Deo Gratias! +

| SAINT TERESA’S,SOUTHAMPTON: |
Bishop Anthony wishes to give deep thanks to Mrs Peggy Derwent, one of our Southampton stalwarts, for a recent very generous donation to The ArchConfraternity. Over a long period Peggy has been so staunch, loving and most generous and we bless her for it. Dame Patricia Earl-Williams has also sent a kind donation (with many stamps) during May and we are grateful. She will have minor keyhole surgery on her right shoulder in June and Bishop Anthony asks you all to pray for his mother at this time. ALL our Southampton Faithful have been so generous over the years and we thank them – as well as thanking GOD for them! The next Southampton Mass will be arranged as soon as Dame Patricia has recovered from her operation. Bishop Anthony so looks forward to seeing you all again! |

| SAINT WENCESLAUS,EASTERN BOHEMIA: |
Friday,June 20th will be the first Anniversary of the tragic death of Tomas Vychodil who did so much for us and who was just 32 when he died from carbon monoxide poisoning. It will be a sad day for his mother Zdena and for Bishop Anthony who both miss him so terribly.
Will those of you who knew Tom be sure to pray that day for his soul. His gravestone has now been erected and Bishop Anthony will bless it on his next Visitation to Bohemia. There will be a Solemn Requiem Mass for Tom at 6pm on June 20th at the Hampstead Oratory. The time of the Requiem Mass at Chrudim is to be confirmed, but probably at 10am. On a brighter note, Father Lukas Tenkrat has settled down well on his return to Eastern Bohemia. He lives with his sister, Ina, and has established the new Mission of St.Judmila at Havlickuv Brod. There were eight people, including Father Vojen, at the inaugural Mass at Pentecost.
Thank you! Thank you, Father! Mnohokrat dekujueme, Pater! May we say: Svata Judmila! Oroduj za nas!
The pattern of Masses is well established now in four centres, including Prague. Deo Gratias+

| DO PLEASE KEEP THOSE SECOND CLASS STAMPS COMING!! |
They are a source of real income to the ArchConfraternity, helping tremendously with the postal bill for the despatch of the monthly Notes. As we’ve already stressed: many of our older Faithful don’t have access to a computer – and thus to our Web Site – and really do rely on the “old fashioned word” as a vital means of communication. Particular thanks to all who’ve sent stamps during May. Pentecost donations would be most welcome. Cheques should be made payable to “The Traditional Roman Catholic Church” and sent to Bishop Anthony at the address at the top of the Kalendar or to Mr.Simon Gibbs, our ArchConfraternity Treasurer, at:
Gibbs & Co.,Blackwell House,Guildhall Yard,London,EC2V.5AE.
God will bless you. Holy Mass is offered monthly for all our benefactors.
|
| |
| WILL CLERGY AND GUARDIANS |
please send in any new names to be included on the Sick List at your earliest convenience – and tell us to remove others! Thanks.Holy Mass is offered monthly for all on the List.
|
| |
| SAINT PIUS X AT MIDHURST: |
The last Mass was in fact not as advertised, but a day later on Sunday,
18th May, Feast of the Holy Trinity when Bishop Anthony was driven down early in the morning. Pontifical Solemn Mass was at 11am and seventeen Faithful were present. We thank Mrs Ullathorne for all she does in turning her drawing room into a beautiful chapel for the occasion as well as for all the hospitality. One of our new Faithful at Midhurst, Mr.Leo Blake, has kindly offered to host one of the Masses soon.
|
| |
| LINDISFARNE PILGRIMAGE MOOTED: |
Bishop Anthony has discussed with Bishop Robert McBride a return Visit to our beloved Lindisfarne. Bishop Robert hasn’t, in fact, actually been there before and would be interested in joining us, depending upon the date. If anyone is seriously interested in a Pilgrimage to Holy Island will they let Bishop Anthony know as soon as possible. Please keep Sister Tessa Fisk in your prayers – and all the people at Saint Aidan’s Catholic Church on Lindisfarne.

| OUR LADY OF PENRHYS,RHONDDA: |
The Vigil of Pentecost Mass on Saturday,May 10th was supported by eighteen people from the Rhondda and from our other South Wales Missions. Glenys says that I must stop saying “Thanks” – so I will!! Arrangements for the Feast of Our Lady of Penrhys in July are in hand.
Next Rhondda Mass on Wednesday, June 11th at Treorchy at 7pm – Feast of Saint Barnabas, Apostle.
